This is our DTS team writing to you. Some of you already know us: Aleksei and Marina Vasileva, Pavel Malenkih, Yura Smirnov, Natalyia Paskal, Andrei Em, and Masha Valieva. At the present time we are on outreach in Northern Tajikistan in Khujand City. During the lecture phase our team received a word from God that we need to go to Tajikistan and later it was confirmed. We were invited to Khujand City and now we are here.

Tajikistan is a former Soviet Republic and the capitol city is Dushanbe. The population of the whole country is around 6 million people and 93% of the territory of Tajikistan is mountains. Also about 92-93 % of the population are Muslims and less than 1% are Christians. We could say the this is an unreached country and we are the first YWAM team from Russia that is now in Khujand.

The environment here isn’t easy to understand. Here is a completely different culture, people have been raised in Islam, although many of them are only nominal Muslims. Women do not have their right to speak in their families and they are not greeted. People receive meager salaries and many are not pleased. Many want to leave the country….

Here we did some prayer walking and prayed over the spiritual strongholds. We prayed next to the head government administration building, at Lenin’s Square, we blessed the church and walked through the streets and prayed for the city and for the people. There is still a lot of work before us. We will be working with the local churches and will participate with them in their evangelistic programs. We will be praying for them, building relationships with them and evangelize by friendship.

Dear friends, we also need your help. Please pray for us, for our team, that God would strengthen us and give us wisdom, that He would send us people that are in need of help.
We also ask you to pray for for our finances. We still need money for ministry (about $300 USD), for transport back to Perm and the surrounding villages in which we be held programs. For each person $400 USD is needed.
